Research Overview

Community health workers (CHWs) — also known as promotores, patient navigators, and community health representatives — are trusted frontline workers who serve as a bridge between health and social services and the communities they serve.

GCAHR's research spans training and workforce development, program evaluation, policy analysis, and implementation science, with a commitment to co-designing interventions with the communities most affected.
