Pilot study of Mantente REAL in Spain

Project Status: Completed

Researchers from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (Santiago de Compostela, NW of Spain) and the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Sevilla, SW of Spain) collaborated with the GCHAR in the implementation of the adapted version of Mantente REAL in the Spanish context and proving its efficacy.

Prevention of substance abuse and consume on adolescents

Experimental and control schools, sample surveys qualitative and quantitative approaches and focus groups.

Results showed desirable effects of Mantente REAL reducing substance use among Spanish adolescents, especially alcohol use and intoxication episodes, as well as increasing some strategies to deal with offers in their daily lives.
